Lexi + Kevin | Sickman's Mill | Summer Micro Wedding
Lexi + Kevin | Sickman’s Mill | Outdoor Micro Wedding
When life throws you curveballs, you simply have to roll with it. Lexi and Kevin are the most amazing examples of “chill” under some of the biggest stress.
When Covid-19 hit our area and everything came to a screeching halt, Lexi and Kevin simply modified their plans and continued to plan the most beautiful and meaningful Wedding Ceremony.
The ceremony was held at Sickman’s Mill in Lancaster County, where the reception was also to be held. With the change of plans, the guest list was cut to 25 and social distancing was respected and the reception was moved to the bride's back yard. Because this became a Micro Wedding - Lexi and Kevin had control over all the details and were able to personalize this to be exactly what they would have wanted. Their four precious Grandmas walked the aisle as the flower “girls”, Lexi’s dad who is also a pastor was the officiant of the ceremony with opening comments by her Grandfather.
With some rain rolling in, the ceremony was able to start a few minutes early and was shared with all the guests who had a zoom invitation to watch it live from their homes. Lexi had one request. Since the caterer was no longer necessary, Lexi and Kevin were picking up the pizza’s themselves from her favorite Pizza Shop - Pizza City in Strasburg, PA. Lexi with her face mask on, proudly carried the pizzas to the car for the short ride home to the reception.
At the reception, the intimate gathering feasted on charcuterie boards, elaborate fruit trays, and pizza and cheesesteaks while enjoying the most delicious homemade Mojito and teas by the parents and grandparents. Every touch and detail of this wedding was from someone in the family or a close friend.
The couple had a Drive-through for all the guests to be able to visit and share their good wishes and Lexi and Kevin greeted each one with a smile and the sweetest of wedding favors.
I asked Lexi privately if she felt she had given anything up with the changes that had to occur. Lexi’s answer was immediate, “Nope, this was everything I had ever hoped for.”
There are so many lessons to be learned through these challenging times but I think one of the greatest lessons is gratitude… These two understand that completely!!
Best Wishes Lexi and Kevin! Sending you virtual HUGS!
