Pamela and Dan | Pocono Mountain Lakeside | Wedding

Bride and Groom in Wooded Ferns at Twin Lakes in Pocono Mountains

When Pamela reached out to me just a few weeks before her Wedding Day and explained that she and her fiance Dan were planning to make a road trip from California to PA to get married at Dan’s parent’s Lake Home I about jumped with delight. Sunset on the Lake with just immediate family was the most intimate and perfect wedding setting!

Pamela and Dan were engaged last October and had plans to have a destination wedding in Greece when a Pandemic changed everything. They chose to have the same guests with the sweet addition of his grandparents! He moved the venue to the Lake where he and his family have spent many years enjoying the water.

Pamela, her sister (who is a bride of mine next Saturday), and her sweet mother got dressed and ready at The Settlers Inn in Hawley, PA. This is a beautiful venue that features a newly added area called Grant’s Woods which is multiple little cabins nestled among the ferns and along a stream. It’s a beautiful venue for intimate gatherings and was the perfect backdrop for our getting ready photos! It features gardens and a neat little greenhouse gift shop.

The ceremony was held at the groom’s parents’ home along the Twin Lakes in Shohola PA at 5:00 in the evening. After the two exchanged their vows with their families watching, we all decided to jump into canoes and paddle onto the lake and capture some amazing sunset photos. Dan’s sister Mia safely guided me while his sister Cec safely guided my husband Jim. There is a large rock that is about a 15-minute canoe ride from the family's home - this was a spot that as children, Dan, and his siblings spent many trips climbing. It seemed only fitting that on their wedding day, Pamela and Dan would climb the rock and officially name it, “Wedding Rock”. Neighboring homes cheered and celebrated along with Pamela and Dan!

After arriving back at shore, the family gathered on the deck of the family lake house and watched the sunset while enjoying amazing food that was prepared for the evening.

This was the most spectacular micro wedding and one that I was honored to be part of. Thanks, Pamela and Dan for allowing Jim and myself to share in this special moment of time!
